Cruzadinha BLA reached 127th place in the Magazines & Newspapers category of the Brazilian App Store, in June 2026. It is its best position so far, after showing up at 150th and 175th. The climb says less about marketing and more about the BLA standard: an app made with care, without extracting the attention of whoever uses it.
Magazines & Newspapers is a hard category. It holds the big dailies and the weekly magazines of the country, with newsrooms, staff and decades of readers. A crossword made by an independent editorial studio in Goiânia showing up at 127th among them is no small thing.
There is no million-dollar campaign behind it. It is a crossword that some people opened, liked, and told another about. What carried the app there was word of mouth, not paid media.
BLA makes apps this way: one at a time, with the Portuguese language taken seriously, no flashing ad, no charging the attention nobody offered. In Cruzadinha, the clue is prose, not a dictionary definition. There is the daily Mini, the Big Sunday, the themes. When an app is made with that care, whoever uses it notices. The number in the store is just the reflection.
The mark came in the week the World Cup started, with the Copa Pack open in the app. But the 127 is not only the Cup: it is the buildup of whoever arrived and stayed, from before.
The ranking spot is a consequence, not a goal. An app for a person, not for a metric.
Cruzadinha BLA is on the App Store, the same as always. Made in Goiânia 🇧🇷.
