the one rule
Row, column, block. No repeats.
A board of 9 rows and 9 columns, split into 9 blocks of 3×3. Each row, each column and each block has to hold the numbers 1 to 9 without repeating. Some cells come filled in, the clues. The rest is up to you.
Every empty cell has between 1 and 9 possible candidates. Your job is to eliminate until one is left. Each clue unlocks the next. It is like a mystery series, no jump scares, pure investigation.

The only candidate.
A cell where only one number can go.

The single house.
Instead of looking at the cell, you look at the number and see where it is the only fit.

Erase by intersection.
When a number, inside a block, only fits in cells along one line, you know it sits on that line. Outside the block, on the same line, that number drops out of the candidates.
The app also brings naked pairs, triples and elimination chains for the hard and expert puzzles, and lets you pencil in candidates on every cell.
why it exists
It was the first BLA app published.
When we started building apps at BLA, we wanted to practice logic before diving into bigger projects. Sudoku became an exercise in design and code at once.
